Thanks for visiting this little homepage to learn more about me! My name is Alexandra. I am a nonsmoking professional woman, young 50's, with a Baccalaureate degree in English Language and Literature and graduate work in English at Rutgers University. I am a native speaker of English with a very neutral American accent. I am also the mother of twins (boy and girl) who are now grown and out on their own so I am able to pursue some of the things I've always dreamed of.
In 2005, I spent five weeks in China living with a family in a home stay program and enjoyed it very much. I instructed the parents and eleven year old daughter in conversational English and was also recruited to work short-term at a local university. There I designed an intensive English and Job Interviewing training program that I delivered to Chinese students who were seeking engineering internships in Singapore.
I would like to arrange a 'homestay' where there will be no exchange of money. Rather, I will live with you and your family and devote several hours each day/week tutoring you (and your family) in conversational English. You, in turn, will provide me with a room and meals and include me in family activities.I am flexible, creative, open-minded and enjoy spontaneity. I am also quick to laugh, honest and hard working. I love children and animals and adapt easily to my surroundings. I have been fingerprinted recently for clearance to work with refugees and their children so I can provide proof that my background is clean of any criminal activity. I also can provide personal as well as work-related references and would need for you to do the same.
